Artec Design developed the electronics and firmware for the dialysis sensor created by Optofluid Technologies.
Dialysis is an exhaustive treatment process that is used to purify the blood of patients with kidney failure. The process is carried out 3 times per week for 4 hours, however, it provides little feedback about the efficiency of the treatment as blood purity is estimated by laboratory analysis. The sensor device incorporates a method for the detection of toxic waste removal from blood and enables to adjust the treatment accordingly. Therefore, the usage of real-time dialysis monitoring sensors enables the nephrologist and nursing staff to reach a higher level of care quality for each treatment.
The sensor is based on patented technology resulting from extensive R&D in the field of biofluid optics.
